Our recipe book is a printed, physical book shipped to you. Refunds and returns depend on the condition of the book, the reason for your request, and the timeframe below.
Eligibility for a refund or return
The timeframes below are our standard policy. Longer or additional rights may apply under mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction—nothing here limits those rights.
You may request a refund or return if you meet the following, as applicable:
- You contact us at info@bookandread.org or (307) 289-2080 within 14 days of the date your order was delivered (or, if delivery cannot be confirmed, within 14 days of the date we provide tracking showing delivery).
- You provide information we can use to verify your purchase (for example, the email and name used on your order, order or receipt identifier, and delivery address).
- For “change of mind” returns, the book is unused and in resalable condition—no writing, missing pages, stains, or damage from use. Original packaging helps but may not always be required.
- For damaged or defective books, you contact us promptly with a description and, where helpful, photos of the damage or defect.
We may need reasonable time to confirm your purchase and inspect returned inventory. If we cannot verify the transaction, we may be unable to process a refund.
Damaged or defective books
If your book arrives damaged in shipping or with a clear manufacturing defect, contact us as soon as possible. We may offer a replacement or refund at our discretion, including covering reasonable return shipping for verified defects.
When we may decline a refund
We may decline a refund or return if:
- The request is received after the 14-day window (except where required by law).
- The book shows signs of substantial use, marking, or damage not caused by shipping or manufacturing.
- There is evidence of fraud, chargeback abuse, or violation of our Terms & Conditions.
- Applicable law or payment network rules prohibit or restrict the refund in your specific case.
Nothing in this policy limits any rights you may have under mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction.
How refunds are issued
Approved refunds are generally processed to the original payment method (or, for cash on delivery orders, by another reasonable method we agree with you). Timing depends on banks and payment processors and may take several business days after we approve and process the refund.
Return shipping
For change-of-mind returns that we approve, you may be responsible for return shipping unless we state otherwise or the return is due to our error or a defective product.
Chargebacks
If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute, please also contact us so we can help resolve the issue. Chargebacks can delay resolution and may result in restrictions on future purchases if we determine misuse occurred.
Weekend Zoom recipe classes (membership)
Our Weekend Zoom recipe classes are a separate service from the printed cookbook. Shipping, cash on delivery, and the 14-day physical-product return window above do not apply to Zoom membership fees.
Cancellation. To cancel your membership, contact us at info@bookandread.org or (307) 289-2080 (or as stated in your enrollment confirmation). Cancellation takes effect as described in that confirmation or, if not specified, at the end of the billing period for which you have already paid, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Refunds. Membership fees are generally non-refundable for partial months or after you have received access to scheduled sessions or meeting links for that period, except where our Terms & Conditions, your enrollment confirmation, or mandatory consumer protection law requires a different outcome. If we cancel the program entirely or charge you in error, we will work with you in good faith to correct the charge or offer a remedy consistent with law.
Termination. If we terminate your access for violation of our terms or disruptive conduct, refunds may be limited or unavailable as described in our Terms & Conditions and applicable law.
